An expected highlight at the upcoming National IT Merit Awards (NITMA) organized by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is the 2013 Information Technology IT Personality of the Year Nigeria award. Nominees for this year’s President’s Award, the IT Personality of the Year, have stood out this year with their exceptional and outstanding contributions.
It’s time to once more reward and celebrate the brightest and the best in Nigeria’s Information Technology (IT) community. The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), the nation’s foremost network of Information Technology (IT) practitioners and stakeholders will again be fostering excellence and innovation in Nigeria’s technology space. The National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA), the most important and recognized award ceremony in the sector, holds in Lagos, Nigeria on December 13, 2013.
In furtherance of its policy of strategic partnership and stakeholder engagement, Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) recently visited three key players in Nigeria’s technology space – MTN Nigeria, MainOne Cable company and Sidmach group. The NCS delegations were led by the Deputy President, NCS, Professor Sola Aderounmu who represented the NCS President, Professor David O. Adewumi.
A call for participation has gone out for eNigeria 2013 themed: “Local Content in ICT Development in Nigeria: The Journey so Far”. The event organized annually by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) takes place from December 3 – 5, 2013. Venue is: Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja. Time is: 9AM Daily.
Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Ogun State Chapter has raised the bar again with its just concluded 5th Annual Edition of Information Technology Development Programme. According to the release from the chapter, not less than ten institutions participated in the two-day programme tagged “Enhancing IT Knowledge Capacity”. The unique knowledge sharing and capacity building event was held at Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State on 5th & 6th November, 2013.
