International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Young Innovators Competition
ITU is providing an opportunity for young innovators to showcase their talents and contributions at ITU Telecom World 2012. Holding from 14-18 October 2012 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the competition provides an international and influential stage for youth in innovation.
It aims to highlight the innovative ICT ideas and fresh digital thinking of young people (aged between 18-25) that are focused on addressing the search for real-life solutions to real-world developmental challenges.
YOUNG INNOVATORS COMPETITION – YOUR INNOVATION ON A WORLD STAGE
How significant are your innovative ideas and digital creativity? Seize this opportunity to shine in the global ICT spotlight. Take part in the Young Innovators Competition at ITU Telecom World 2012 and let the world see how your fresh innovative thoughts and skills for technology can create a better future by providing real-world solutions to real-world problems. Not only will you highlight your innovation abilities to an international audience, you will also be able to gain exposure to development workshops, industry expertise and engage in networking with other attendees and partners at this unique event. On September 1st 2012, the Selection Committee will announce the twelve (12) finalists that will attend the ITU event.

The main criteria is that your solution should be based on using innovative ICT to support development, from concepts to mature projects. Demonstrate your submission to our influential audience. Finalists will be invited to ITU Telecom World 2012 in Dubai, where they will receive the following:
Up to CHF 10,000 in prize money: great concepts can win up to CHF 5,000; innovative projects can win up to CHF 10,000.
Industry mentorship: benefit from intensive one-on-one sessions with high level industry mentors, plus their ongoing support over a one-year development period.
Hands-on Workshop: training sessions focusing on developing entrepreneurial skills.
Networking: Opportunities to build relationships with top ICT names from industry, governments, academia and peers.
