Professor Cleophas Angaye, Director General/CEO pf the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is inviting ICT stakeholders to a Public Presentation of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Blue Print in Nigeria. Venue: The Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, Date: May 22nd, 2013; Time: 9:00am.
According to the release from NITDA, “The revolution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has redefined the way we conduct our daily businesses and individuals performing their activities and the Governments are adopting ICT as a means of interaction and thus making it the backbone of economies globally, Nigeria is no exception.
Businesses especially in the banking sector have completely migrated their services from the regular manner into an ICT medium”.
The statement therefore states that in view of these developments, Nigeria’s Federal Government of Nigeria through NITDA is in the process of developing a comprehensive blue print for the implementation of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for the country. PKI has a strategic role to play in the evolution of digital economy.
Stakeholders in the IT industry, in consideration of their involvement in the development of a digital economy have been invited for this public presentation and stakeholders workshop.
“The workshop is expected to harness input in enrich the document and create the necessary awareness while at the same time bring all the stakeholders in the industry to share experiences on PKI implementation”.
