Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Lagos State Chapter held its 2013 IT Conference and Award on Thursday, 26 September, 2013 at the Ikeja Airport Hotel, Awolowo Way, Ikeja.
Highlight of the event was the recognition of Deacon Ojinta Oji-Alala and Prof. Gabriel Michael Obi with the Information Technology Golden Names 2013 Award for their contributions to the development of IT profession and industry in Nigeria.
Other awards were the Don Etiebet Innovative Prize, Sidmach Prize and the Past President Prize.
The Don Etiebet Award was won by Olakunmi Joseph, a student of the University of Lagos. He was presented with a cas/cheque financial prize for his innovative efforts.
Sidmach Technology award for the best students from Lagos state in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations was awarded to the deserving schools and students. The winner of the best 2013 WAEC student in Lagos state was from Apostolic Faith Secondary School, Lagos. Winners won printers and laptops.
