National Workshop on Coordination of ICT4D Plan
INVITATION TO A NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON THE COORDINATION OF SECTORAL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NIGERIAN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY FOR DEVELOPMENT (ICT 4D) PLAN
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is hosting a national sectoral ownership workshop aimed at coordinating the implementation of the Nigerian ICT 4D Plan on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in Lagos, Nigeria .
The Nigerian ICT 4D plan was developed by National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in collaboration with United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). The plan is scheduled to serve as a reference point and a framework for implementing short to medium term ICT programs targeted at achieving sustainable socio-economic development and a knowledge-based economy in Nigeria.
It was formally presented to the public by Mr. President. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) ably represented by the Honorable Minister of Science and Technology during eNigeria 2010 Summit held in May, 2010 in Abuja. At the conference, all stakeholders were enjoined to commence immediate implementation of areas relevant to their mandates.
The coordination of the implementation process of the Nigerian ICT 4D Plan is to create the requisite awareness and ownership platform for the implementation of actionable programmes and activities in identified critical areas of our national development.
The first two phases of the sectoral workshops were held in February and May 2011 respectively and they covered ICT in Agricultural, Education, Health, eGovernment, eLegislature, eSecurity and Human Resource Development.
The third phase of the series of the workshop is scheduled to cover the following sectors:
I. ICT in Research and Development;
II. ICT Infrastructure;
III. Private Sector Participation in ICT deployment; and
IV. ICT Popularization and Awareness
ICT4D researchers, policy makers, professionals, entrepreneurs, enthusiasts and others are invited to attend the sector workshop scheduled to hold as follows:

I love ICT workshops but the problem is that i live in Abuja i can’t be able to come to lagos please can’t we have some of the workshops in Abuja?
I want to live all my life for ICT but i don’t have the money how can you people help me to become a member in the ICT world, i studied Computer science and i love ICT.

It is just unfortunate that i just saw the information about the training in Lagos today.Is there no other Chanel of communication apart from e mailing,Such as sms through mobile phone?
