A Trade Mission organized by the Corporate Council on Africa will be visiting Nigeria from March 11 – 15, 2013.
The release sent by the US Commercial Service in Nigeria, states that the mission will be led by Mimi Alemayehou, Executive Vice President, Overseas Private investment corporation (OPIC).
Members of the delegation will include top U.S. Government officials and executives of CCA, and representatives of fifteen companies with interests in the following industries:
- Information and communications technology (hardware, software & online services)
- Aviation and Avionics Service
- Design and Construction (housing, roads/bridges, and urban development)
- Education and Training
- Electric Power
- Finance and Mortgaging
- Mining, oil and gas
- Water (equipment, technology and resources)
The delegation is made up of companies interested in investing in Africa.
The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) is a nonprofit, membership-based organization established to promote business and investment between the United States and African nations. The council is known to have a focus on increasing investment in and trade with the countries of Africa. CCA is described as “the premier American organization devoted to U.S.-Africa business relations and includes as members more than 180 companies, which represent nearly 85 percent of total U.S. private sector investments in Africa”.
Engagements will aim to identify and pursue discussions of project opportunities. The release from Janelle Weyek, Commercial Attache, states that as part of the delegation’s visit to Nigeria, the Commercial Service at the U.S. Consulate-General plans one-on-one, business to business meetings with the companies on Thursday, March 14 and Friday March 15, 2013.
