The 2015 Information Technology (IT) Professionals’ Assembly will hold from June 17 – 18, 2015 in Calabar, Cross River state. Theme this year is: “Developments in Information Technology in Nigeria: The Gains, Challenges and Way Forward”.
Organized yearly by the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), the IT Assembly brings together IT practitioners and stakeholders to address pertinent issues and concerns that are of priority interest to the IT profession. CPN is the legal entity charged with the control and supervision of the Computing Profession in the country.
Presentations from major stakeholder are expected to address the event theme. According to CPN, the IT Professionals’ Assembly will examine the roles of IT Professionals in national development. Challenges will be assessed as well as the how to maximally harness the potentials of IT Professionals for national development.
To this end, announced Sub-Themes are:
- IT Entrepreneurship and Management.
- A global comparative analysis of IT development
- IT Development in Rural Communities
- Emerging Technology for National Development
- Resilience and Robustness of Information Technology
- Implementation of IT Policies in Nigeria
As usual, the assembly is expected to provoke meaningful dialogue as well as purposeful and collaborative thinking and actionable outcomes. Audience will include: scholars, experts, knowledge leaders and government representatives.
