In a mail sent to CPN members on June 25, 2015, the council stated that “the current edition of CPN’s register will, without further delay, be sent to all government establishments, Oil companies, Banks and other financial institutions, Embassies, Airline operators and will also be posted on the CPN website”.
CPN called on “Any individual or corporate member whose name has been inadvertently omitted in this publication but with genuine proof of payment should provide such proof for rectification on or before July 31, 2015, when the final and updated register of members would be ready for publication and circulation”.
The Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), established by Decree No. 49 of 1993, is body created by law responsible legal entity charged with the control and supervision of the Computing Profession in the country.
Specifically responsibilities of the council spelt out in the act include, “Organization of computing practice in the country, Control of the practice of computing in the country, Supervision of the practice in the country, Screening individuals seeking to be registered as computer professionals, Screening corporate bodies seeking to be registered to engage in the sale or use of computing facilities and/or the provision of professional services in computing in the country, Ensuring high computing professional ethics and professionalism – standards discipline etc”.
