Build your people skills by developing people in your sphere – your clients, colleagues or managers. At Jidaw the emphasis here is not on formal classroom training; career development and growth is about enriching experiences with people.

COMMUNIQUE OF THE 11TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND 46TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) OF THE NIGERIA COMPUTER SOCIETY (NCS), HELD AT THE ROYAL PARK HOTEL, ILOKO-IJESA, THE STATE OF OSUN, NIGERIA FROM 24-26TH JULY, 2013.
When I was asked speak about role of ICT in National Transformation by the Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) at its 2012 South West Convention (at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State), my first thoughts were: what is national transformation? What is the transformation agenda?
Keynote and papers delivered during Plenary sessions of the 11th Nigeria Computer Society NCS International Conference (July 24 to July 26, 2013); theme: “e-Government and National Security”, held in Iloko-Ijesa, State of Osun were well received. The presentations are now available online.
Are you humble enough for knowledge? For example, how prepared are you to learn from those with less experience than you? Jidaw notes that the teachable person is ready to learn from anybody. Humility is integral to learning. Get out of the straight jacket classroom mentality. At Jidaw we tell students to look beyond the traditional instructor and identify their many teachers. What can you learn from your new colleagues? Are you a good pupil of the new market?
