Welcome to Nigeriacomputers.com the blog for driving ICT in Nigeria

Computers in Nigeria, Nigeria Computers… What is happening in the Nigerian ICT scene? Software, hardware, people, users, professionals and entrepreneurs… what really is going on?

What the answers? Let’s go beyond ICT. ICT is more than ICT.

How is ICT driving development in Nigeria? ICT4D? How is it addressing the real issues of jobs, health, education and poverty? Has ICT been reduced to PR gimmicks or an elite conspiracy? Does ICT have teeth or is it a paper tiger?

And people…. yes, people, where do people come in? How can we use ICT to live better lives? What is the essence of knowledge? Where lies the value in technology? Can we empower others without being empowered? Let’s one and another using knowledge and technology. Without people what is technology? It’s about More Power and Better Lives.

Let’s stimulate ideas, let’s ask the right questions.

Looking forward to sharing news of hope and developments that promote inclusion, that celebrate the REAL and the MEANINGFUL… let’s celebrate the unsung heroes who keep doing all the hard work without recognition.

More Knowledge! More Power! Access to knowledge, not just knowledge is power. And what you do with knowledge is the priority not just access. With the right thinking and insights we can all make better choices in social, education, business and health matters. Making a difference means having this power. Digital literacy, as well as access to knowledge, information and communications should be for all.

Driven by Jidaw our goals are:

* To provide ways for ICT professionals to grow their careers more profitably
and
* To provide opportunities for us all to get real benefit from ICT.

* To encourage empowerment (especially of the Youth and Women) through ICT and bridging of the digital divide. If we all do our bit we can bridge the divide. Enough of being a “paper tiger” – ICT must start delivering on its promise.

We don’t claim to be perfect. We don’t claim to have all the answers. But we intend to make an impact. We are committed to making a difference and we are already making a difference. We have ideas. We have thoughts. We have a song and with YOU we will sing our song.

Interested in growth and empowerment with Information and Communications Technology? You are welcome to Nigeriacomputers.com
